Wareham Police on the job

Wareham police placed several people in protective custody. Here is the rundown, according to a news release from Acting Chief John Walcek.

On Thursday, May 23, at 2 p.m. Nasr Kraany, 63, of Wareham, was arrested for shoplifting after he was observed concealing items from Walmart. When confronted by security personnel he gave back some of the items, but then fled the area in a vehicle. A few minutes later he was located at Wareham Crossing and placed under arrest.

On Friday, May 24 at 4:45 p.m. Kayla Jonas, 33, of East Falmouth, was arrested on an active warrant on Charge Pond by Department of Natural Resources Officer Joshua Kimball, assisted by Officer Jennifer Braley. Later that day, at 7:15 p.m., Jessica West, 33, of Wareham, was arrested on a warrant by Officer Eric Machado on Cranberry Highway.

On Saturday, May 26, at 12:30 a.m., Marcus Cooper, 37, of Wareham, was arrested by Officer Ryan Gomes and Sergeant Daniel Henderson for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. Cooper was taken into custody after police responded to the Woods at Wareham complex for a reported large fight. Upon arrival of the police officers multiple people fled however Mr. Cooper remained and was reported to be belligerent and uncooperative.

Later that day, at 1:30 p.m., John Biasiucci, 42, of Onset, was arrested by Officer Steve Joy and Sergeant Henderson on Onset Bay Lane.Biasiucci had two warrants for his arrest.

On Sunday, May 27, at 11:00 a.m., David Leforte, 56, of West Wareham, was arrested by Officer Nate Aronson and Reserve Officer Eric Kanavos on active warrant. The arrest was made on Cranberry Highway while the two officers were investigating a suspicious activity call.

On Tuesday, May 28, at 6:40 a.m. Officers Robert McLain and Ryan Turner responded to Gatehouse Drive and attempted to place Antonio McGee, 31, of Brockton, under arrest on a warrant from Lowell District Court. McGee fled the area on foot and officers began to search for him. Within a few minutes Wareham Police received phone calls reporting a male running through yards on Great Neck Road. Sergeant Henderson and Officer Aronson apprehended McGee in the area of Penny Lane. In addition to the warrant, he is also charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

During the weekend there were an additional eight incidents in which people were taken into custody for various issues.
