Wareham Police arrest Mattapoisett man for reckless driving

Wareham Police arrested a 63-year-old Mattapoisett man on Friday, Feb. 15 after receiving a call that he was “all over the road.”

The call came to police from an out of town officer, who was not named, at 9 a.m.

According to reports, the officer told Wareham Police that the driver, Michael Thompson, was “all over the road” in the Hathaway Street area.

Officers Calib Larue and Zachary Bowden responded to the area and reportedly observed Thompson on Marion Road near Hathaway Street, crossing over the yellow line and forcing oncoming cars to swerve out of the way.

The officers pulled Thompson over and arrested him for reckless operation of a motor vehicle and operating an unregistered automobile.
