Wareham officers care for injured owl

An injured barred owl discovered by Wareham Police on Jan. 13 has been transported to the Cape Wildlife Center in Yarmouth for further treatment.

According to Wareham Harbormaster Garry Buckminster, the bird was found on Indian Neck Road early Sunday evening with injuries sustained to its beak and one of its wings.

Wareham Department of Natural Resources Officer Micheal McGuire arrived on scene to collect the owl from police.

The bird spent the night with the department before being transported on Jan. 14.
