A 55 year-old Wareham man was arrested on an active warrant after being recognized by a police officer on Sunday, Jan. 27.

According to reports, Officer Christopher Smith recognized Robert Yourell while in the area of 169 Main Street.

Officer Smith was reportedly aware that there was a warrant out for Yourell and placed him under arrest. Police did not disclose the reason for the warrant.

Yourell was brought to the police station for processing was held for court on Monday morning.
