The money for the scholarships was raised by the Wareham Historical Society’s 1st annual golf tournament which was held this August at the Little Harbor Golf Course. The event was organized by Wareham Historical Society President Angela Dunham, Ellie Martin and Kevin Ward.

Historical Society members Kaye Naylor, Ron Dunham and Barbara Smith were the driving force behind the fundraising efforts for the scholarships.

“These are the first scholarships we’ve awarded,” Angela Dunham said. “And we’re immensely proud to present them to these students.”

She added that the Historical Society would be making the scholarships an annual award.
