Veterans Day ceremony

The Wareham Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11,  at the Wareham Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2846 at 4 Gibbs Ball Park Rd. 

The ceremony will begin with a presentation of colors by the Wareham Minutemen and Militia Honor Guard and the Wareham High JROTC Color Guard and an opening prayer by Post Chaplain Erwin Russell. Steve Ruiz will sing the National Anthem, and Selectman Chair Patrick Tropeano will read the Veterans Day Proclamation. 

Quartermaster Julio Roderick will recognize guests and dignitaries, and Senator Marc Pacheco and Representative Susan Williams-Gifford will make comments. 

Skip Sarnelli, the Chairman of the Wareham Veterans Council, will make a speech.

Ruiz will offer a musical tribute. 

Emerson Kearns, an eighth grader, will read her winning Patriot Pen essay, and Carlisle Beach, a junior at Wareham High School, will read his winning Voice of Democracy essay.

Russell will offer a benediction.

Refreshments will be served after the ceremony, which is open to everyone.
