Two suspects believed to have been involved in a violent home invasion on Choctaw Drive were arrested by Wareham Police on Wednesday, Jan. 16, while a third suspect remains at large.

According to reports, a man called Wareham Police on Tuesday, Jan. 15, reporting that three people had broken into his home and began beating him and another victim with baseball bats.

Wareham Police officers Michael Phinney and James White responded to the address around 5:10 p.m. where they learned that the suspects had also stolen the man’s wallet, which reportedly contained a large sum of cash.

The man’s identity was not released by police, and both victims reportedly refused medical assistance when offered.

Detectives then started an investigation and the suspects believed to be involved in the incident were identified. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the three suspects on Wednesday morning at Wareham District Court and then set out with help from Bourne Police detectives and troopers from the State Police Violent Apprehension Section.

Wareham Police both arrested Katherine N. Greene, 30, of Dry Cedar Swamp Road, Bourne and Jeffrey Johnson, 24, of Catherine Court in East Wareham at their respective residences.

In addition to the arrests, detectives confiscated weapons believed to be used in the home invasion. The incident is not believed to be random, police said.

A third suspect, Daniel Russ, 38, of Marstons Mills, is still being sought. The two suspects were transported to Wareham District Court after being processed at police headquarters.

All three suspects are charged with home invasion, armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on two counts.
