Two cars collide at intersection of Main Street and Route 6

Feb 28, 2020

A two-car collision at the intersection of Main Street and Route 6 in the early afternoon of Friday, Feb. 28 caused damage to both vehicles, and briefly delayed traffic along Main Street.

According to witness Sandra Stewart, one of the cars was traveling down Route 6, and was turning onto Main Street. The driver of the other car was heading straight on Main Street, toward Tobey Hospital. According to Stewart, this driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Main Street and Route 6, resulting in the collision.

“I knew they were going to hit before it even happened,” Stewart said.

Wareham Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the scene sometime around noon. The intersection was blocked off briefly, and a Wareham Police Officer directed traffic around the scene of the accident.

It is currently unclear how many people were in each vehicle during the collision, and the extent of their injuries.
