Turning Point seeks holiday volunteers, donations

Wareham’s Turning Point Day Resource Center is seeking volunteers, donations and sponsors this holiday season to help children in need.

The non-profit organization provides supportive services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Turning Point is part of the Wareham Area Committee for the Homeless and serves the communities of Buzzards Bay, Carver, Marion, Mattapoisett, Middleboro, Rochester and Wareham.

Last year, the organization’s holiday program sponsored over 425 area children.

Sponsor A Child

To sign up to sponsor a child or family, email turningpointspecialprograms@gmail.com.

Gift Cards and Donations

Financial donations, product donations and gift card donations may dropped off at 3 Viking Dr. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

3 Viking Dr. is the Annex building located across from Wareham Middle School. For those unable to attend drop off hours, pick up may be arranged.

All donations are due by Dec. 11.

Volunteer

Volunteers will be needed to organize, pack and distribute donations beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Volunteers will be needed at the following times:

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesdays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Volunteers will also be needed for Distribution Day on Dec.15 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
