Theresa Pina, 96

Theresa M. (Rose) Pina, 96, of Wareham, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 1. She was the wife of the late Albert Pina and the daughter of the late Theodore N. and Mary Theresa (Lima Nescimento) Rose.

Mrs. Pina worked for over 40 years for the Shore family. She also worked at Ocean Spray seasonally. 

She lived in Onset for all her life.

Mrs. Pina was well known and loved in her community. Everyone knew her door was always open; there was always a welcoming, comforting environment, wonderful pleasant conversations and many funny stories about family and friends. Her passion was professionally baked and decorated cakes. She loved crafting and especially the Saturday night card games with family and friends which lasted many years. She enjoyed her Red Hat Society Club and the many trips and activities she attended. Her greatest joy was attending the yearly Fourth of July Family Reunions and visiting with generations of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is loved and will be missed.

Survivors include two daughters, Alberta Jackson of Wareham and Tryna Pina of Onset; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. She was the mother of the late Marshall Pina and sister of the late Edwin, John and Antone Rose, Madelyn Smallwood and Adelia Mendes. 

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham. Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Onset. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
