Students attend leadership conference

May 10, 2021

Two Wareham High School sophomores, Kinzie Navarro and James Pinkham, attended the Massachusetts  HOBY Leadership Seminar on May 1 and 2.

The seminar, held virtually this year, convenes sophomores from public and private schools across the state to recognize their leadership talents and provide them with tools to be effective and ethical leaders. During the seminar, students took part in hands-on activities and tuned in to presentations from various speakers.

After the seminar, students are challenged to serve 100 volunteer hours in their communities. Those who complete the challenge are eligible for the HOBY L4S Challenge Award.

"My time at HOBY is an experience that I will never forget. Although it was virtual this year, I was still able to learn a significant amount about myself and others,” said Navarro. “I had the pleasure of working with an amazing group of people to learn about leadership on the personal, group and societal level.”
