Sterling Golf Company given pouring licenses for Little Harbor

Jun 8, 2022

The Sterling Golf Company was granted thirty one-day beer and wine pouring licenses for use at the Little Harbor Country Club by the Select Board on June 7.

While the Golf Course Advisory Committee initially voted to hire the Northeast Golf Company to run Little Harbor, it turned out that the company didn’t meet the technical specifications of the town’s request for proposals.

Town Meeting voters approved spending Community Preservation funds to purchase the golf course earlier this year. One condition of that purchase was to put the land under a conservation restriction to ensure that if the golf course closes, the land won’t be developed.

The town then issued a request for proposals for a company that would be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the course. Sterling and Northeast were the only two companies to submit a response.
