Shipment of dog license tags delayed

Jan 4, 2021

Dog tags are yet another element of life that has been impacted by covid-19, reports Town Clerk Michele Bissonnette.

Because the company is running fewer machines with a smaller staff, the shipment of tags has been delayed, but is expected later in January.

In the meantime, Bissonnette said that dog owners can use the form at the bottom of the town census to request a dog license.

Alternatively, dog owners can send a current rabies certificate, payment, and a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Town Clerk at 54 Marion Road, Wareham, MA 02571.

All dogs in Wareham must be licensed. A valid rabies certificate is required for licensing. For spayed or neutered dogs, a license costs $10, and a license for intact dogs costs $13.

Tags will be sent out as soon as is possible.
