On Tuesday the Board of Selectmen presented a list of projects that they would like to pursue this year.

Selectman and a Redevelopment Authority Chairman Peter Teitelbaum plans to continue working with the redevelopment of the Tremont Factory, where he hopes to combine about 6,000 square feet for a distillery and brewery as well as offer an open space for entertainment.

Selectman  Alan Slavin plans to dedicate his time to the energy aggregation project as well as improving Routes 6 & 28 in East Wareham, and repairing Routes 6 from Fairhaven to Town Hall. Slavin also plans to create a long-awaited bike path, which would stretch from Narrows Road to Depot Street along Minot Avenue. He hopes to bring commuter rail service to town, pass plastic and nip bottle resolution on a state level and start building a new police station.

Selectman Jim Munise plans to improve affordable housing, advance town recycling system, review town policies and work on website postings.

Selectman Mary Bruce said she will stick to “trash and flowers,” meaning that she will further continue beatification of the town.

Selectman Patrick Tropeano noted that these projects will be discussed in more detail in the upcoming meetings.
