Select Board talks tweaks to appointments

Jun 15, 2022

At its Tuesday, June 14 meeting, the Select Board discussed some possible tweaks to their procedure for appointing people to boards.

One change could require appointed members to show proof that they’ve completed the state-mandated online trainings in ethics and open meeting law. Chair Judith Whiteside pointed out that those trainings should only take appointees about an hour to complete.

Another would require new appointees to appear before the Select Board in case members had questions.

While the members seemed to agree that those changes would be beneficial, they couldn’t take a vote on the matter as it wasn’t listed on the agenda for the meeting.
