Ronald “Ron” H. Cardoza, passed from this life into eternal life at age 82 on January 3, 2021, at his Sun City Center, FL, home with his loving family around him. 

He was born in Boston on July 31, 1938 and was the son of Henry Cardoza and Eva (Roderick) Cardoza. He entered the military after graduation and served with the 101st Airborne Division. He later went to college in California receiving his AA in Business. In 1980, Ron returned to Massachusetts to pursue his interest in law enforcement. He used his GI benefit to receive his BS degree in Criminal Justice at UMass-Boston. Cardoza served as a patrolman for the Wareham Police Department before resigning in 1967. He also attended the Massachusetts State Police Academy and eventually accepted a position as a U.S. Law Enforcement Agent and secured a position with the U.S. Department of Labor (OSHA) as a Compliance Officer/Special Investigator in the Boston region as well as the states of Georgia and Florida.

Ron was a strong natural born leader, and a go to person for anything you needed to know. Everyone who knew him looked up to him. He loved to research everything, and was a well-versed, analytical thinker to the extreme. He was strong minded, very compassionate and caring, determined, driven, and very devoted to his family and friends. Ron was generous; giving, had a loving heart and would never hesitate to help anyone in need. He also had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. 

He was a Hall of Fame recipient for basketball, baseball, football and track, Wareham High School, Class of 1956. Ron was also a Pop Warner Youth Football coach for 10 years. 

Ron enjoyed travelling across country several times. He loved to sing and dance to the Oldies, Doo-Wop and R & B. He enjoyed eating and dining out. Especially New England lobster and clam chowder. An avid reader of The Boston Globe, he would enjoy reading his paper every single day from beginning to end on-line.

He was the past Vice-President and acting President of the Princeton Greens Condo Association at his retirement residence in FL. He served on many executive boards and enjoyed organizing dances and entertainment venues. 

He loved attending church and was an active member in his church community, both in Massachusetts with his late wife Betsy and family and continued this with his now wife Ina.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his beloved daughter Kimberly Cardoza.

Survived by his loving wife Ina Cardoza of Sun City Center, FL; his son, Rodney Cardoza and wife Rosa of NC; devoted daughter, Catherine Spinola of NV; son Peter Maderos and wife Carrie of CA; loving grandchildren, Mychal Spinola, Randy Maderos, Cody Maderos, Ashley Maderos, Kimberly Cardoza, Timothy Cardoza, Zachary Maderos of CA; step-daughter, Kristen Dunne and partner Christine Fitzgerald of FL; beloved and only sister, Marie Elena Cardoza of Sun City Center, FL; half brother, Manuel “Junior” Evora of MA; great grandchildren, Julian, Mychayla, Aryana and Noah of CA; and several nieces and nephews; Also predeceased by brothers, Gerald “Gerry” Cardoza, Wilson Cardoza and Dennis “Denny”) Cardoza, and his step-son Steven Dunne.

Relatives and friends may visit on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home (Rt. 28), Wareham from 10 to 11 AM. (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity.)
