Richard Barlow, Jr., 38

Richard W. Barlow, Jr., 38, a long-time resident of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, Jan. 23. He was the beloved son of Cynthia A. (Santos) and stepson of Michael J. DeCicco of New Bedford. 

He was born in Taunton and graduated from Wareham High School. He earned certificates from Southeastern Massachusetts Educational Collaborative in Phlebotomy and also as a CNA. He also attended classes at Massasoit Community College in Brockton. He was well known for his kind heart, boisterous laugh, crazy sense of humor and ostentatious style. He loved animals and music but most of all his family and friends. 

He is also survived by his sisters:  Wendy B. Martinez of New Bedford and Shelly A. Samuel and her spouse Elizabeth Fritta of East Providence, Rhode Island, his nephew Dereck N. Martinez and his niece Maya S. Martinez and many relatives and friends. He was the long-time friend of Roger Dube and brother of the late Harry J. Barlow and Tracy N. Samuel.
