Pumpkin Splash brings fall fun to Gleason Family YCMA

On a rainy, windy Saturday, kids and pumpkins made a splash at the Gleason Family YMCA.
In the Y’s pool, kids swam and played as small pumpkins bobbed around. The annual event, known as the Pumpkin Splash, mixes physical activity and creativy, said Aquatics Director Melissa Dyer.
“It’s my favorite of the event of year,” she said, noting 75 people participated.
Following the swim, kids decorated the pumpkins with yarn, pipe cleaners, buttons, paint and more. No carving required, said Dyer.
