Wareham Police arrested four people on Monday, Sept. 17, during different incidents, charging one person with shoplifting after she allegedly threw stolen hair products at a Walmart security officer.

Darlene Ritchie-McGrath, 57, of Wareham was arrested after Walmart staff attempted to stop her from leaving the store. Police said she tried to steal hair products and threw them toward a security officer when confronted before fleeing the store. Officers stopped her in the Aldi’s parking lot and Ritchie-McGrath was charged with shoplifting, third offense.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., Courtney Skiffington, 29, of Wareham was arrested on a dirt road behind Home Depot for an active warrant.

At about 7:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of County Road and Fearing Hill Road where a pick-up truck struck a pole. The driver, Anthony Lindquist, 36, of Plymouth, was treated and released from Tobey Hospital, but was later arrested at the hospital charged with operating under the influence and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Police said Lindquist loudly protested his arrest and refused to cooperate. Officials said Lindquist claimed he was friends with police officers and state troopers during his rant.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., Officers James White and Michael Phinney arrested Nahkalah DeYoung, 33, of Wareham, for operating with a suspended license. The arrest was made after a motor vehicle stop on Great Neck Road.
