A Wareham man who reportedly went off the road and crashed into the offices of Wareham Community Television is being summoned to court for leaving the scene of an accident after police said they found him at an address in Rochester.

According to reports, Officer Larue discovered the scene of the crash at 4:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 18.

Larue said he noticed tire marks going off of the roadway in the area of 505 Main Street, near the offices of Wareham Community Television. Larue reportedly observed some damage to the building and adjacent telephone pole.

Sgt. Herb Noble arrived on scene and saw tire tracks in the snow where the suspect vehicle had fled.

Sgt. Noble directed Officer Jennifer Braley to follow the tracks, which led down Main Street onto Fearing Hill Road and into Rochester.

Officer Braley met with Rochester Police Officer Aly Rego and determined the car in question could be found at an address on Bowens Lane in Rochester.

At the address they spoke with Thomas Caplain, 21, of Wareham, who admitted to being in the accident.

Caplain will be summoned to court for leaving the scene of a property damage accident at a later date.
