For the first time, the Wareham Police Department will now accept vaping devices and cartridges at the station during the 18th National Drug Take Back Day. This comes after a recent spike of concerns regarding illnesses and deaths caused by vaping, and the high youth vaping rates. 

On Saturday, Oct. 26, people can anonymously remove opioids and other medicines from their homes. Substances can be dropped off at the Wareham Police Department on 2515 Cranberry Hwy. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For safety reasons, the police department officials asked to remove all batteries from vaping devices and cartridges.
