Police Building Committee is now complete

Dec 10, 2019

The Board of Selectmen appointed the last member to the Police Building Committee on Tuesday night.

David McClure, who has been an Onset resident for about 20 years, will now be on the Committee. He will work alongside the Town Moderator Claire Smith, Onset Fire District Prudential Committee member Charles Klueber, Wareham Assistant Fire Chief John Kelley, and Paul Girard.

Five Police Building Study Committee positions became available following voters' approval of $165,000 in funds for a new Public Safety Complex at Town Meeting on Nov. 28.

The complex will be home to the Police Department and Wareham Emergency Medical Services, and could also host other departments.

“The Wareham Police Station is a rather sad facility,” said McClure. “I want to build a new Police Station in the most foreseeable future.”

Board of Selectmen also unanimously approved appointing Missy Dziczek to Old Colony Elder Services Board of Directors and Matthew Stanton to Wareham Veterans’ Council.
