Paula Augusta Kingsbury, 69

Paula Augusta Kingsbury, 69, of West Wareham, died Friday, December 13, 2019, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Byron Curtis “Curt” Kingsbury.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Laurindo and Rose (Almeida) Mendes. Mrs. Kingsbury received her bachelor’s degree from UMass Dartmouth and worked as a call center supervisor for NSTAR in Wareham before transferring to their Westwood campus. She was previously employed by Commonwealth Electric and Goodyear Rubber.

A parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham, she attended daily Mass for many years. She also assisted with St. Patrick’s Table and the Nights of Hospitality. Mrs. Kingsbury was a member of the Wareham Garden Club and, along with her husband, a member and recording secretary for the New Bedford Rod and Gun Club.  She was also a life-member of the N.R.A.

She was passionate about exercise and was a member of the Gleason Family YMCA in Wareham. Mrs. Kingsbury also enjoyed knitting and drawing in charcoal.

Survivors include her husband Curt; her daughter, Tammie Galindez and her husband Benny of Spring, TX; her son, Marc A. Faria and his wife Trisha of Lake Placid, FL; her brother, Barry Mendes and his wife Barbara of Randolph; her grandchildren, LeAndra Williams, Kayleen Faria, Justice Faria, Amaya Faria, Ava Faria, and Christian Jackson; and her great grandchildren, Elijah Faria, Mariah Williams and Nylah Williams.

Visiting hours will be at Chapman, Cole, & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy (Rt. 28), Wareham on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 4 - 7 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham on Thursday December 19 at 10:00 AM. Please go directly to church. Interment will be at Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
