The Friends of the Wareham Free Library are holding a contest to name an oversized duck ahead of the Fourth Annual Rubber Duck Race. The contestant who enters the most creative name will win a Six Quack — six rubber ducks — to enter into the race. Contestants can pitch in their ideas at either the Main Library or the Spinney Branch Library.

The Rubber Duck Race, sponsored by the Friends and A.D. Makepeace Company, will be held on Sunday, May 26 starting at 11 am. Race time is 2 p.m. The competition takes place at the Tihonet Pond Canal, 150 Tihonet Road. Duck awards will be conferred at 1:30 p.m.

Duck Decorating will be held from 11 am to 1 pm. Basic decorating supplies will be available. Participants can also purchase ducks ahead of time at the library and decorate it at home.

One rubber duck can be purchased for $5, six ducks for $25, thirteen ducks for $50, and twenty-five ducks for $100. All proceeds will benefit the Friends.
