Michael A. Richman, 27

Apr 6, 2019

Michael A. Richman, 27, of Buzzards Bay died April 3, 2019 in Morton Hospital, Taunton after a long battle with substance use disorder.

He was born in Taunton and lived in Buzzards Bay and throughout his adult life he spent much time in and out of rehabs and sober houses.

He worked primarily at Dunkin Donuts and moved on to landscaping and construction work.

Michael was a kind, caring, loving gentle soul. He touched many lives through his smiles, witty jokes and caring, giving heart. He was a nonjudgmental being and believed everyone was a good person and had a good heart.  Michael was a natural with music and song writing. He recorded and performed with other friends who shared the same talent. His music was his safe place to express his joys, his pains, fears and his struggles in his life.

He adored me, his mother, Mumma Dukes, his pretty lady. Even during his darkest of times, he had the outmost respect for me and that made it so difficult to ever give up on him.  We both have fought this long battle together for 13 years. He, wanting to live and me wanting to save him although I knew, only he could save himself. He fathered a beautiful baby girl Avaeh Lillian who he adored with all his heart. His face would light up when he saw her and spoke of her. "She's my lil nugget Ma" as he smiled thinking of her.

Michael was loved unconditionally and will be forever loved and missed.

He is survived by his beautiful baby girl Avaeh Lillian Richman O'Connor; mother Carmen Dwyer and her partner Mark Robinson of Buzzards Bay; father David Mark Richman and his wife Carla of Revere. A half-sister Leah Marie Richman of Revere and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
