Marguerite E. (Klocker) Barrett, 97

Marguerite E. (Klocker) Barrett, 97, of Wareham, died April 24, 2021, in the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home in Middleboro. She was the wife of the late George F. Barrett who died in 2017. They were married for 67 years. She was the daughter of the late Matthias and Bertha (Kaiser) Klocker.

She was born in Middleboro and lived in Wareham for many years.

Mrs. Barrett worked as a hairdresser for many years. She ran the office at Barrett’s Heating & Appliance Center on Main Street, Wareham, for over 60 years. She had also worked for A. D. Makepeace Co. She toured the country extensively with her husband and family attending U. S. Marine reunions, world fairs and visiting friends wherever they may be. She was a life-long Red Sox fan, an excellent bowler, and talented crafter. She will be remembered by her family as an unmatched host and by her grandchildren for the best mac & cheese on the planet. 

Survivors include her son, George T. Barrett and his wife Kerry; 2 daughters, Judy Sullivan and her husband Donald and Kathy Murphy and her husband Roland all of Wareham; 5 grandchildren, Elena Murphy, Elisabeth Langelier, Ryan Sullivan, Joel Sullivan and Greg Barrett; 7 great grandchildren, Faye, Grant, Pierce, Henry and Theodore Sullivan, Mae Langelier and Bentley Barrett. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert M. Klocker, Martha Boucher, Bertha Wilbur and Dorothy Mestieri.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Hannah B. G. Shaw Home for what it considers such extraordinary and thoughtful care offered to Marguerite during her stay. 

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rte.28), Wareham. Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity.

Her funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
