May 29, 2019

Wareham Free Library is pleased to announce that the library will now offer Ancestry Library Edition to assist patrons conducting historical or genealogical research.

Ancestry Library Edition delivers billions of records in census data, vital records, directories photos and more. Members of the community can search more than 7,000 databases, including immigration records, family histories, military records, court and legal documents, and maps.

For patrons with an interested in learning how to use Ancestry Library Edition, a free class will be provided by the Wareham Free Library on Wednesday, June 12 at 1 PM. Several sample searches will be conducted by the reference librarian before patrons will be guided on facilitating their own exploration. Spaces are limited and registration is required.

Additionally, the Genealogy & Family History Research group led by local historian Lynda Ames will continue to meet at the Wareham Free Library. The next meeting is slated to take place on Tuesday, June 11 at 10 AM in the library conference room.
