Learn to Quahog with Buzzards Bay Coalition

Join the Buzzard Bay Coalition to learn to harvest your own quahogs on Sept. 7. from 9.30 to 11 a.m. The group will meet at Onset Pier at 186 Onset Ave. and travel by boat over to Burgess Point. Wareham coalition educators and representatives will teach participants the basics of local quahogging - what to do, where and how to catch one.

The representatives of Buzzards Bay Coalition will provide attendees with rakes, peck baskets, and waders. Participants are asked to bring their own quahogging equipment if they have any.

Participants are suggested to wear water-proof shoes and clothing.

Unless you have a shellfish permit for the Town of Wareham, this is a catch-and-release event.

The event is free, but registration is required. 

Metered parking will available at $2/hr. Participants are advised to pay for 2 hours.
