The Spinney Branch Library, 259 Onset Ave., will be hosting a free presentation on the history of Onset Village and the Fire District at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 27. 

Len Gay, a lifelong resident of Onset, will present the history of the village, beginning in 1877, and explain why the village and the fire district exist and how they operate.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
