Land’s End Wareham festival gets ready for 8th season

Music from Land’s End Wareham returns for its 8th summer season between August 2-12, with chamber music concerts by internationally acclaimed artists including Ariadne Daskalakis, Sebastian Gottschick, Riccardo Pesenti, Paige Riggs and Janice Weber.

On Friday, August 2, the Land’s End musicians will play Duos and Trios by Mozart, Schubert, Brahms and Grieg at the Church of the Good Shepherd Wareham at 7:30 p.m.

The final two concerts in Wareham will be summertime music by Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Gershwin arranged by Sebastian Gottschick as well as Brahms’ String Quintet in G.

A family-friendly concert will take place on Thursday, August 8 at the Wareham Free Library at 1:30 p.m., while the last concert in Wareham will take place on Sunday, August 11 at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 5 p.m.

Artistic Director violinist Ariadne Daskalakis – a Boston/Wareham native currently based in Germany, and an alumna of the Juilliard School, Harvard/Radcliffe College and the New England Conservatory Prep School – has also announced the release of her latest CD in August. Ms. Daskalakis will arrive in Massachusetts after performing the Mendelssohn E minor Violin Concerto at the Cantiere festival in Montepulciano, Italy, with the Orchestra della Toscana under György Rath.
