K-Kids Club students present check to Turning Point

Jun 25, 2019

The K-Kids Club at Minot Forest Elementary School presented a check of $435 to Turning Point, a nonprofit organization that serves as a resource center for persons who are homeless or have issues of impending homelessness.

The kids raised these funds by securing pledges for running in the Bourne Wareham Kiwanis Cinco de Mayo 5K in early May.

The check presentation took place on June 5 during the school pizza party that celebrated the end of the year for the community service group.  Over the school year, the club did many activities, including a St. Patrick's Day Riddle Contest, decorating Hope Factory cards for kids in local hospitals, Valentine's Day cards for Pre-k students at Decas School, creation of a recycling program at Minot Forest, assisting in creating Summer Book List for incoming 4th graders.
