Judith Ann Baptiste-Fontes, 76, of Carver, died November 12 at home. She was the wife of Francisco M. “Frank” Fontes, Sr. and the daughter of the late August A. and Mary E. (Pina) Baptiste.

She was born in Wareham and lived in Carver for several years. She graduated from Wareham High School. She received an Associate’s Degree from Massasoit Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

Mrs. Baptiste-Fontes worked as a case worker for the Plymouth County House of Correction for 19 years before retiring.

She enjoyed painting, pottery, gardening, cooking, photography and she loved animals.

Survivors include her husband, Francisco M. “Frank” Fontes, Sr. of Carver; 3 sons, Randall Drew of New Bedford, Paul Drew of AZ, and Francisco Fontes, Jr. of VA; a daughter, Christine Drew formerly of Carver; 2 sisters, Elaine Bartie of West Wareham and Kathleen Baptiste-Atchue of Wareham; a brother, Leonard Baptiste of Westford; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late August A. Baptiste, Jr.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Carver.
