The Wareham Free Libraries host a variety of book clubs to suit different interests.

The Stephen King Book Club will be meeting for the first time at 6 p.m. on January 2 in the main library to discuss “Carrie.” “Carrie” is the story of a teenage outcast and the revenge she enacts on her classmates. The club will meet on the first Thursday of each month to discuss King’s books in the order in which they were published. On February 6, the group will discuss “‘Salem’s Lot.”

The Mystery Book Club will meet on Thursday, January 6, at 6 p.m. in the main library to discuss “Elementary, She Read,” by Vicki Delaney. The novel follows an English woman who moves to a small town on Cape Cod to run her uncle’s Sherlock Holmes bookstore, where she quickly becomes ensnared in a mystery. 

The Fiction Book Club will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Spinney Library in Onset on Friday, January 17, to discuss “Sold on a Monday” by Kristina McMorris. The novel is inspired by a real newspaper photo of a sign advertising children for sale during the Great Depression.

The Non-Fiction Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. on January 30 in the main library to discuss “Dark Tide: The Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919” by Stephen Puleo. The book delves into the history of the molasses flood, which began when a 50-foot-tall steel tank filled with 2.3 million gallons of molasses burst near the Boston waterfront.
