James P. Collins of Wareham, formerly of West Bridgewater, died March 17, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family.

He was the loving husband of Paula (Kirsch) Collins. He was the dedicated Dad of Jamie and Liz (Weathers) Collins of Tampa, FL and adored grandfather of Lily. He was a loving brother of Dr. Monica M. Collins and her wife Roberta Winchell of Bangor, ME, Dr. Joanne Collins Russell of West Roxbury, Marilyn F. Petty of Roslindale, and Peg Thomas of Weymouth. He was a cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was a special friend of many relations in Ireland.

He graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in W. Roxbury and attended Providence College. He was a Vietnam War Navy Veteran.

Collins worked as a Master Electrician at Twin Rivers Technologies in Quincy for 17 years. Previously he owned and operated Collins & Son Electrical Contractors.

He loved his dogs, fishing, traveling, the outdoors and he was an avid fan of all the New England Sports teams. Most of all at the end of the day, he loved his family and preparing meals and his famous chocolate chip cookies for them.

Visiting hours are from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.
