Jack Kennedy

Oct 1, 2018

It is with great sadness to write that Jack Kennedy passed away suddenly, at his home in Marfa, Virginia, on Sept. 20. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Joan. Jack grew up with his sisters Joan (Maynard), Janet (Braman), and brothers Jay, and James, on the beach in the Point Independence neighborhood of Onset and lived for many years in Wareham. Jack grew up with sand between his toes, adventure in his blood, and was always quick with a laugh, or a joke, or a light for a smoke. He was a 1978 graduate of Wareham High School where he was the Zag to Kosta’s Zig, and friend to countless others. Jack was a professional commercial driver and used to acknowledge that he probably was the only JFK still cruising around Hyannis.

He is survived by not only his siblings, but also his brother-in-law Bob Braman, and his sister-in-law, Maggie Kennedy, his nieces and nephews: Tarryn, Garrick, Tom, Craig, and Erin, and grandnieces and grandnephews: Vivian, Beverly, Thomas, Taylor, Neriah, and Timothy. Jack’s burial will take place on Friday, Nov. 2, 10:30 a.m., at Belmont Cemetery; a light luncheon will follow at the Lexington V.F.W. Since Jack was almost a Fourth of July baby, please consider donating to your town’s local firework fundraiser in Jack’s memory, or a charitable organization of your choice, and think of him fondly.
