House fire displaces residents on Puritan Ave.

Mar 1, 2020

A fire displaced the residents of the home at 49 Puritan Ave., off Glen Charlie Rd., on Sunday night.

Wareham Fire responded to the fire at about 8:31 p.m., as did Wareham EMS and Police and Onset Fire.

Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, Wareham Assistant Fire Chief John Kelley said it seemed that a space heater was likely the cause of the fire.
The fire caused extensive damage to the basement, and smoke seemed to fill the home, as it drifted out a window on the second story.

The residents were home at the time of the fire.

No one was injured, and the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes.
