Help officials plan Wareham’s Economic Future

May 20, 2019

Wareham residents will have the chance to help officials plan for the town’s economic future at two presentations of the town’s Economic Development Strategy.

The Wareham Redevelopment Authority will present the plan, which was developed by FXM Associates of Mattapoisett, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1. Both sessions will be held in the auditorium at Town Hall.

At both sessions, the Redevelopment Authority will present an overview of the data and analysis included in the plan. Attendees will have a chance to weigh in with their priorities and ask questions.

The plan identified four areas for the Authority to focus on: the centers of Wareham and Onset villages, the industrial areas of town, and the commercial strip on Cranberry Highway. The Redevelopment Authority is working to improve the town with a focus on jobs, the tax base, and new and redevelopment.

Those wishing to read the plan in full can do so on the town’s website, wareham.ma.us.
