Haunted Hallways

Oct 31, 2019

On Wednesday night, the halls of Wareham High School were filled with zombies, superheroes, video game characters, and vampires as kids of all ages trick-or-treated and participated in crafts and activities.

The event was a collaboration between clubs at the high school including the Student Council, National Honor Society, and the Viking Theater Company, along with some sports teams and many teachers. The students and teachers stayed after school to decorate and showed up early to finish setting up. Julianne Matthews, a senior who helped plan the event, said that while they had expected about 500 people, they had likely surpassed that number. One station near the entrance had already given out 1,000 pieces of candy within the first hour of the event.

Matthews thought that Halloween’s poor forecast and the EEE warnings likely boosted turnout.
