Gerard W. Dunne, 30, of Buzzards Bay, died Tuesday, Jan. 1 in Wareham unexpectedly. Born in Boston, he was the son of Karen M. (Murray) Dunne of Buzzards Bay and Gerard F. Dunne of Rockland.  

Gerard graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 2006, where he was a member of the varsity ice hockey team and named 2005-2006 Standard-Times Super Team goaltender. He went on to play junior hockey for the Bay State Breakers Junior B team in Rockland, and the Massachusetts Maple Leafs. He was also a talented musician and played guitar.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Ashley Dunne of Wareham, and Colleen Dunne of Hull, and his paternal grandmother, Ellen Dunne of South Boston.

Funeral services will be private.
