Driver collides with gas pump in West Wareham

Oct 29, 2021

Gas stations were busy in the wake of the storm, and one unlucky driver collided with a pump at the West Wareham Cumberland Farms.

At about 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, a driver backed up into a gas pump, shearing it from the foundation.

Wareham Fire responded to secure the area while the car — a white SUV — was removed.

“There were no injuries and no spillage of gas because the Emergency Shear Valve did its job,” said Engine 1 Captain Mark Rogers.
