Dog park arts and literary contest announced

Jul 6, 2020

The Dog Park Association of Wareham is once again hosting a summer arts contest for kids and teens. This year, the Unleash the PAWsibilities contest is themed “Animals, our COVID Companions: Pets and wildlife bringing comfort and joy during quarantine.”

Both visual and literary artworks are welcomed, and will be judged within three age groups: 5 to 9, 10 to 14, and 15 to 18.

All contestants will be entered into a raffle, and winners will receive trophies.

Visual art submissions can be any 2-D medium, no larger than 9 by 12 inches. Literary works can be poems, stories, letters, or essays, and up to one page long.

Submissions will be accepted between July 7 and August 7 in contactless drop-off boxes at the Main Street Post Office, Spinney Library, and Decas School.

Celebrations and activities will be planned in August in accordance with the state’s current guidelines, and all work will be displayed on WCTV On Demand.
