Council on Aging plans June events

May 25, 2021

While the Council on Aging is still closed, it is hosting several outdoor activities, weather permitting. The center may reopen in August.

Thanks to the Onset Bay Center, a different outdoor program will take place each month this summer. On June 15, seniors can explore Onset Bay by kayak, starting at 9 a.m. The program is free, but space is limited and registration is required. To register, call Kat Garofoli at 508-999-6363, ext. 277.

Coffee and Conversation takes place each Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. behind the Multi-Service Center. Get re-acquainted or meet new friends.

Seniors can join the Wednesday Walking Group weekly at 10 a.m. at the Wareham Middle School field, weather permitting. Sign up to join by calling 508-291-3130.

Every Tuesday at 1 p.m., try Tai Chi in the library courtyard.

Chair Yoga with Pam is held every Thursday at 2 p.m. in front of the library.

Grab and Go boxed lunches, courtesy of Old Colony Elder Services, are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays to be picked up by the Multi-Service Center handicap ramp between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Lunches must be reserved at least 3 days ahead of the scheduled delivery date by calling 508-291-3130. The June lunch menu offerings can be found on the COA Facebook page.
