Claudette Estes, 76

Claudette B (Gagnon) Braley Estes, 76, passed away on February 16, 2023 wrapped in the loving arms of her family. Claudette was born on Sept 14, 1946 in Fall River, MA to
the late Philip Gagnor, Sr. and Aldea (Singster) Gagnon.

She lived a majority of her life in Wareham, MA, moving a year ago to Statesville, NC.
Left behind to cherish Claudette’s memory are her husband of thirty-five years, George A. Estes Jr.; daughter, Andriette Braley Anslow (Matthew); stepson Craig LoranEstes (Julia); eight grandchildren, Stephanie DeYoung Warren (Brian), Robert DeYoung Jr., Jacqueline DeYoung, Tyler Estes, Chad Estes, Arianna LoranEstes, Evan Stavris, Alexander Stavris; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Orander, Easton Warren, Kailani Geron-Estes: brother, Roger Gagnon (Cecilia); sister-of-the-heart, Stacy Parks; and many nieces and nephews.

Claudette, in heaven, has joined in addition to her parents, siblings, Phillip Gagnon Jr, Imelda (Gagnon) Boule, Alice (Gagnon) Robeson, Andrette Gagnon; stepdaughter, Karen Estes.

Claudette’s tremendous gift for making people feel loved, valued, and accepted manifested itself into her true calling as a foster parent.

The more unloved you felt, the more you needed a Claudette in your life.

Her gift for lifting people up and making them feel worthy inspired many of her former children to start their own loving families.

Claudette was very proud of her Native American heritage and unselfishly shared her talents and knowledge with all.

Among her many hobbies, bingo, travel, knitting, crocheting, and dog breeding brought her great joy.

Visitation will be held Saturday February 25, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:30 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, MA.

Memorial service will follow at 3:30 at the same location. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the “Claudette Gagnon Estes Scholarship Fund for Foster and Adoptive Children” at the Rockland Trust Company, 2995 Cranberry Hwy., East Wareham, MA 02538.
