The 6th Annual Brent Hastings Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on September 21 with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at the Bay Pointe Country Club.

The Brent Hastings Memorial Fund was founded in 2014 to honor the memory of Brent Hastings who lost his life to a heroin overdose. The fund supports organizations providing substance abuse education, awareness, and recovery programs, and has raised more than $89,000.

Proceeds from the tournament will fund “Brent’s Bed,” a partnership with the Herren Project, to assist young men financially as they transition from acute care to a recovery residence. This time is especially difficult for recovering addicts as all recovery residences are private pay. Brent’s Bed provides a thirty day scholarship at a recovery residence, a recovery coach from the Herren Project, and a stepped down plan of financial support for the second thirty days as the client transitions back into society.

Registration costs $500 per team or $125 for an individual golfer. Raffle gifts and silent auction donations are also welcome.
