Benjamin Staples, 55

Benjamin Baxter Staples, 55, of Onset, died Feb. 12 at home of complications from diabetes. He was the husband of Suzanne Q. (Sutliffe) Staples and the son of the late Carlton Wilde Staples.

He was born in Worcester and lived in Shrewsbury and Princeton for many years before moving to Onset in 2013. Mr. Staples graduated from the New England Institute of Technology.

He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Ranor Inc. in Westminster for many years.

He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Patriots fan.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Q. (Sutliffe) Staples; his mother, Jacqueline (Snow) Staples of Sandwich; his children, Matthew Staples of Clinton, Samantha Staples of Fitchburg; a step daughter, Morgan Russell of Onset; two sisters, Heidi Staples of California and Sue Staples of Worcester; two grandchildren, Colton Staples of Clinton and Karleigh Szwedko of Onset; two nieces, Danielle Staples Magario of Worcester, Monica Salazar of California; two nephews, Russell Delaney of Worcester and Gregory Salazar of California; his former wife, Lisa (Varnum) Staples of Clinton; his stepmother, Dorothy Staples of Naples, Florida; and his beloved dog, Bobber. He was the father of the late Courtney Staples and the brother of the late Russell Staples.

His services are being held privately.
