Onset beaches closed due to sewage leak

The Board of Health announced beaches around Bourne, Wareham and Onset are now closed to all shellfishing and recreational swimming.
The Onset Fire Department received a report of a sewage leak near the Stone Bridge the morning of Saturday, May 23.
On inspection the fire department found the sewerage pipe had a leak near the vent pipe.
The Wareham Sewer Department responded and began repairing the leak. The Sewage Department pumped out the nearby pumping station as well.
