Barbara H. (Moore) Kelly, 90

Barbara H. (Moore) Kelly, 90, of Onset, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, at Tobey Hospital surrounded by her loving family, following a period of declining health. She is survived by her husband Joseph F. Kelly with whom she shared nearly 65 years of marriage. Born in Attleboro at the family homestead, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. S. Moore and Gladys M. (Peck) Moore.
 
Mrs. Kelly was a graduate of Attleboro High School, class of 1947, attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA and received her license as a Registered Nurse from the Pawtucket Memorial School of nursing in 1954. She worked at the Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Boston, St. Luke’s Hospital in San Francisco, Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro and the former Pawtucket Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, R.I.
 
It was in Pawtucket that she met the love of her life, Joseph Kelly who also worked at the same hospital. They were married at St. Leo’s Church, June 11, 1955, Pawtucket, R.I. 
 
A fourth generation member of the Community of Christ, she became an ordained Elder in 1989. Mrs. Kelly served many roles including Sunday school teacher and Women’s Leader for the New England Mission Center. Mrs. Kelly was known by many for her oratory skills, preaching sermons on Sunday mornings throughout New England.
 
But her cherished role was that as an at home mother to her beloved children, Timothy J. Kelly (Margaret) of Grain Valley, MO and Cynthia K. Souza (Robert) of Acushnet. She was the proud grandmother of Evan K. and Ian J. Souza of Acushnet; Sarah E. Duncan (Connor) of Kansas City, MO; Joshua C. Spreeman and Shannon N. Kelly  of Grain Valley, MO.
 
She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Fontneau of North Attleboro and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kelly was the sister of the late Frederick Moore, Grace Pickett, Dorothy Howland and William Moore.
