Avelino P. “Lovie” Silva, 81, of Wareham, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Carole J. (Andrews) Silva.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of the late Alexander and Julia (Pina) Silva.  He graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 1961.

Mr. Silva worked as an auto mechanic for Strawn Buick and then Cranberry Chevrolet in Wareham for many years.

He is survived by his wife Carole; his son, Kenneth P. Silva and his wife Karen of Wareham; his siblings, August Silva of FL, Casimiro Silva, Rita DiBurgo and Raymond Silva, all of Wareham, and Robert Silva of Buzzards Bay; his grandchildren, Meagan Andrade and her husband Ian, and Kenneth P. Silva, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Antone DaSilva and John Silva; and his sister, the late Frances Leighton.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Mon., Jan. 18, 2021 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 6 PM.  (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity.)  His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tues., Jan. 19th at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 AM.  Those attending are asked to go directly to church.  Attendance in church will be limited to meet capacity restrictions.  Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
