This spring, Wareham Land Trust is joining the Community Biodiversity Initiative, a regional effort led by Dennis Conservation Land Trust to document rare species and certify vernal pools across southeastern Massachusetts.
Why it matters: Many important habitats have no formal protection unless they’re documented. Your observations can help protect wildlife and ecosystems, often without the need for land acquisition.
Get involved by:
- Reporting Massachusetts Endangered Species Act (MESA) listed plants and animals
- Helping identify and certify vernal pools
- Joining community walks/educational events
WLT aims to submit at least three documented observations each year, and we’d love your help reaching that goal.
