Wareham Land Trust steps into the new year with more to come
The Wareham Land Trust stepped through the cold and into the new year during their annual First Day Hike.
Twenty four people participated in the hike held Thursday, Jan. 1 at the Bryant Farm Preserve.
According to event leader and Wareham Land Trust community coordinator Julia Ledo, the attendees discussed the history of the property and explored some of its trails.
During the hike, Ledo wrote to Wareham Week that the trails were covered in snow, exposing various animal tracks.
Ledo added the land trust is looking to install a trail kiosk and parking at the property to make it more visible from the street.
The Wareham Land Trust is celebrating 25 years of operation and will have events celebrating the anniversary all year. Their next event will be a 25th anniversary walk being held Saturday, Jan. 24.
